Accessibility statement

We are building this site to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This statement says honestly where we are.

What we have done

• Every page works without JavaScript — there is none on the public site.
• Semantic headings and landmarks, so screen readers can navigate structurally.
• Text contrast checked against AA on the stone background.
• Keyboard operable throughout; expanding sections use native HTML controls.
• Photographs carry descriptive alternative text.
• Text resizes without breaking the layout, and the site reflows to narrow screens.
• No auto-playing media, no carousels, no countdown that can time you out of a form.

Known gaps

• The main navigation collapses below 860px and is currently reachable through the footer rather than a menu button. A proper accessible menu is planned.
• Results tables are wide and scroll horizontally on a phone.
• Course mapping is not yet published; when it is, a written description of the route will be provided alongside it.
• The site has not yet been through a formal third-party audit or screen-reader testing.

Accessibility at the event

The course crosses open moorland and is not wheelchair accessible, but the race HQ, spectator areas and parking arrangements can be. Accessibility requirements are asked at entry, and you can always talk to us directly.
