The rider behind the races
Ex-UCI cyclist. Directeur Sportif. North West through and through.
Josh Whitehead
Josh raced as a UCI cyclist before moving to the other side of the barriers, working as a Directeur Sportif with 360 Cycling — developing riders, building race plans, and living every result with his athletes.
He knows the Holcombe course better than most: in 2018 he and Marcus Preedy won the Holcombe Mountain Trial Duathlon relay in 1:53:42 — the fastest time ever recorded on the course — with Josh riding the 27km circuit in 43:50, a 37.0km/h average that still stands as the outright bike course record.
Why these events exist
“The North West gave me my racing life. These events are about giving something back: real opportunities to race, courses worth travelling for, and days you'll still be talking about years later. Incredible events, worth remembering — that's the bar.”
- Create opportunities in the sport, especially across the North West
- Put on events with proper history, proper courses and proper organisation
- Every finisher walks away with something — starting with a free finisher tee
